The Essential Details of Backgammon Strategies – Part 2

[ English ]

As we have dicussed in the previous article, Backgammon is a casino game of skill and good luck. The goal is to move your pieces safely around the board to your inner board while at the same time your opposition shifts their chips toward their inner board in the opposing direction. With opposing player checkers moving in opposing directions there is going to be conflict and the requirement for particular tactics at particular times. Here are the two final Backgammon techniques to complete your game.

The Priming Game Tactic

If the goal of the blocking plan is to slow down the opponent to move his checkers, the Priming Game plan is to completely block any movement of the opposing player by assembling a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The opponent’s pieces will either get hit, or end up in a bad position if he/she at all tries to escape the wall. The trap of the prime can be established anyplace between point two and point 11 in your half of the board. As soon as you have successfully built the prime to prevent the activity of the opponent, your opponent doesn’t even get to roll the dice, that means you move your checkers and roll the dice yet again. You will be a winner for sure.

The Back Game Tactic

The objectives of the Back Game plan and the Blocking Game plan are similar – to harm your opponent’s positions with hope to improve your odds of succeeding, however the Back Game plan relies on seperate tactics to do that. The Back Game technique is commonly employed when you’re far behind your opponent. To play Backgammon with this plan, you have to hold two or more points in table, and to hit a blot late in the game. This plan is more complex than others to play in Backgammon because it requires careful movement of your chips and how the checkers are relocated is partially the outcome of the dice toss.
