Posted in Backgammon on 02/02/2026 12:25 pm by JillianThe aim of a Backgammon match is to move your pieces around the Backgammon board and get those pieces from the game board faster than your opponent who works harder to attempt the same buthowever they move in the opposite direction. Succeeding in a match in Backgammon requires both tactics and fortune. Just how far you will be able to shift your pieces is up to the numbers from tossing a pair of dice, and just how you move your pieces are determined by your overall gambling techniques. Enthusiasts use a few tactics in the differing stages of a match depending on your positions and opponent’s.
The Running Game Plan
The aim of the Running Game strategy is to bring all your checkers into your inner board and bear them off as quickly as you can. This technique focuses on the speed of moving your chips with little or no time spent to hit or block your competitor’s pieces. The ideal time to use this plan is when you believe you can move your own pieces quicker than the opponent does: when 1) you have less checkers on the board; 2) all your pieces have past your competitor’s checkers; or 3) your opponent does not employ the hitting or blocking technique.
The Blocking Game Technique
The primary goal of the blocking technique, by the title, is to block the competitor’s chips, temporarily, while not fretting about moving your checkers quickly. As soon as you have established the blockade for the competitor’s movement with a few checkers, you can move your other pieces quickly from the board. The player should also have a good plan when to back off and shift the checkers that you utilized for blocking. The game becomes intriguing when the competitor utilizes the same blocking strategy.
